A Christmas Carol is a wonderful holiday treat. This novella was written in 1843 when Charles Dickens was only thirty-one years old. Dickens portrays the personal transformation of Ebenezer Scrooge from a mean and cantankerous old curmudgeon to a man filled with joy and light. Through the Christmas Ghosts of Past, Present and Future he sees the devastation that his cold and angry behavior has created. He chooses to live to the end of his days with a laughing heart, and in service to those in need.
