The Paradox Players are proud to announce their spring show for 2019 Lying to the Sea Witch with book and lyrics by Kiya Heartwood. Lying to the Sea Witch is an eleven song operetta about taking chances, dreaming, responsibility, and understanding that your daily choices determine the person you become. The operetta will be produced on the first two weekends of May 2-5 & 9-12 at First UU.

Auditions will be held on Friday, March 8 from 7-9pm, and Saturday, March 10-12pm, and Sunday, March 10 from 12:30-2:30pm. Auditions will be held at the First UU Church at 49th and Grover. Scripts will be available for the audition.  Please bring a song for the music audition. Also seeking a choreographer. For more information or to confirm an audition time please call 518-429-0074.

Casey MacKenzie – 13 year old girl, or boy – singing several songs
Mrs. MacKenzie  – 30’s/40’s female – one song
Dorothea – 13 year old girl – one song
Drake – 30’s male party planner type
Marcignano – Ageless – the Sea Witch – one song – operatic range
Captain Midas Falwell – Captain Hook with frilly shirt front and long frilly       sleeves, shiny high boots and big hat with feathers – one song
Mr. Quill – 50’s male.——Not typical first mate.   More like an English schoolmaster. He wears spectacles.
Micro – 12 year old boy or girl—-An exact replica of Captain Falwell.

Pirates – age and sex undetermined, pirates will sing and dance
Joker – A Caribbean style – one solo
Hasty – No sense just hasty
Dodge – Bumbling and mimics Hasty – they are like the pirate version of Laurel & Hardy
Grim – A bit psychotic
Tack – Very literal
